ABOUT US

After 2 years of praying, exploring, learning, and growing, Fristad Lutheran Church and Milltown Lutheran Church each voted to close their doors and create a new congregation. In August of 2019 the two congregations began worshipping together and started the official process of naming and establishing the new church. It was an exciting time with many i's to do and t's to cross along the way. 

Finally in April of 2020, Joy Lutheran Church of Centuria was founded, yes right at the beginning of the pandemic! What an unexpected turn of events this was. Becoming a new, thriving, growing church at that time took a lot of patience, prayer and faith! Here we are over 2 years later and one thing is certain, the leaders and congregation of Joy Lutheran Church has lived up to its mission statement and guiding principles. We have experienced faith firsthand in ways we can't begin to describe, known and given love through the food pantry, youth group, confirmation, evening prayer, and so much more, as well as sharing joy through Sundaes on Sunday, being in parades, hosting community meals and beyond.
